Customs Declaration Specialist

The specialist will be responsible for providing expert consultation on Dutch customs clearance procedures and regulatory frameworks, particularly related to DVA (Directe Vertegenwoordiging Aangifte), DMS (Douaneaangiften Management Systeem), and IIAA processes. They will help review and validate our customs integration modules from a compliance and operational perspective. In addition, the specialist will be expected to write insightful, technically accurate blogs or knowledge articles on relevant customs-related topics for our platform and user base. We are looking for someone with hands-on experience with Dutch customs systems like DMS 4.0 and DVA. Understanding of EU customs codes, tariff classifications, and procedures related to IIAA (Inschrijving in de Administratie van de Aangever) is important. Strong written communication skills in English are a must, as the role includes writing technical blog posts. A consultancy background or experience working with SaaS providers is a plus. Familiarity with Dutch customs portals such as AGS, DMS 4.0, or Portbase is preferred. Knowledge of declaration software (like Customs4U, Streamsoftware, or Softpak) is an advantage. Experience using general collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Slack is helpful. - Ensure our customs software modules meet practical and legal customs compliance standards. - Provide actionable feedback on system design, declaration flows, and IIAA/DMS/DVA implementation. - Publish clear, well-researched blogs or knowledge articles that educate our users on customs processes. - Help our development and product teams better understand real-world customs workflows.
